Coach Carlos
Coach Carlos began his volleyball journey with 13 years as a player. Then, he started his coaching career in 1989 in the town of Corozal, Puerto Rico, working with young athletes. From 1990, he coached both the boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams at Emilio R. Delgado and Porfirio Cruz High School.
His professional volleyball coaching career took off with the Plataneros of Corozal, Pinkins and Girls of San Juan team where he served in both assistant and head coaching roles. In the Women’s Professional Volleyball League of Puerto Rico, he coached teams from the towns of Barranquitas, Orocovis, and San Juan.
Coach Carlos also led the volleyball program at the Central Catholic University of Bayamón. He coached the team from the American University of Puerto Rico to compete in NCAA Division II tournaments.
Additionally, he served as the Head Coach for 23 years at the Club Borinquen Coqui PR , and competed in the Junior Olympics. Earning an impressive total of 14 medals—gold, silver, and bronze.
His experience extends to the international stage as well, having been part of the Puerto Rico Women’s National Team that competed in the World Championships held in Germany.
Coach Carlos is an FIVB certified coach. He lives in Clermont with his wife and enjoys traveling and his four grown children.
